Hourly Energy Scheduler / Asset Manager Gas Supply & Energy Trading – Hourly Trading Department This position will be located at The Energy Center in Birmingham, AL POSITION SUMMARY: This position is in the Hourly Trading group within the Gas Supply and Energy Trading department in the Commercial Operations, Planning and Environmental (COP&E) organization. Hourly Trading works closely with Real Time Operations to optimize the Southern Company generation fleet in the real time wholesale power market. This position will provide support for negotiating and executing short term wholesale transactions and the administration of multiple long-term wholesale contracts. This position will primarily be responsible for energy scheduling and tagging activities, transmission procurement, transaction entry and checkout, billing support, and general support to assist energy traders. This position requires the ability to perform detailed transactional work while under strict deadlines.
