Job description

At Mahaska Health the Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist performs a wide variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This position is responsible for producing high-quality PET/CT images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. The technologist works collaboratively with radiologists, cardiologists, oncologists, and other healthcare team members to provide accurate and timely results. Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to, Job Requirements include but are not limited to, - Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety standards and physician orders. - Perform PET/CT imaging procedures following department protocols and industry best practices. - Operate PET/CT scanners and related equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images. - Verify patient identification, review medical history, and explain procedures to patients and families to ensure comfort and understanding. - Monitor patients during imaging for safety and comfort, responding promptly to patient needs. - Adhere to ra...
