Title: Adjunct Faculty-Astronomy Employee Classification: Adjunct Faculty: Institution: Roane State Community College: Department: Math Science: Campus Location: Roane State Community College Job Summary: Adjunct faculty to teach college level courses in the following areas: - ASTR 1010 –Solar System Astronomy - ASTR 1020 – Stars and Galaxies Astronomy Job Duties: Teaching students on-ground lecture courses. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates qualifying to teach Astronomy courses must have a minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 or more graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields (Astronomy or Physics) from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates qualifying to teach Astronomy must have work experience in Astronomy. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience teaching lecture desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to teach traditional face-to-face classes. Use of technology (Zoom, D2L) to support student learning is expected.
