Job description

The Clinical Shift Supervisor assumes the responsibility for ensuring excellent patient care is being delivered, maintaining expeditious patient flow with a focus on customer service, and supervision of nursing staff. The Clinical Shift Supervisor will provide input on staff evaluations and complete evaluations for their regular staff cohort. The Clinical Shift Supervisor will also assist with cost containment, and manage all employees to do the same. The position requires knowledge of leadership and effective interpersonal communication skills. Leadership: - Supervises staff assigned to their unit or center of excellence and demonstrates the ability to coach and mentor staff. Operational leadership of shift including patient flow and assignment/adjustment of resources to meet dynamic changing needs throughout the shift. Champion efficient throughput and capacity management. Benchmark internal processes to improve practice. Lead and implement operational improvement initiatives and assures compliance via staff coaching and mentoring.
