Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the health care team, this position supports patient care through the maintenance of a clean, safe and well-organized unit, and the use of equipment and products in accordance with established policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: - Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent - Minimum six months experience performing cleaning duties - Knowledge of mechanical equipment (i.e. burnishers, polishers) - Knowledge of WHMIS regulations and guidelines - Computer/tracking data-entry skills - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing - Ability to work effectively with limited supervision - Ability to set and respond effectively to changing work priorities - Effective customer service and interpersonal skills - Basic arithmetic skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing - Ability to perform all of the physical demands of the job (e.g. floor burnishing & buffing and hanging curtains) - Good attendance and work performance record is essential RESPONSIBILITIES: The Unit Support Service Provider (USSP) is an integral member of the team in Environmental Services, supporting effective service by maintaining a clean, safe and well-supplie...
