After-school Teacher After-school teachers are responsible for the education and care of children in an after-school program. Their duties include developing a comprehensive curriculum and planning daily activities. They also interact with parents and other staff members to create a safe and fun learning environment for children. Qualifications: Position is part time: up to 14 hours per week - Ensure the health, safety and well-being of children in the program by providing close supervision of children during all activities. - Promote exploration, creativity, and discovery and stimulate each child’s individual development. - Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment. - Work cooperatively with other teachers - Preparing materials and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment. - Ensure that all Bank Street College, New York City Department of Health/Bureau of Day Care, and New York City Department of Education, CACFP guidelines followed - Other duties as assigned by Director - High School diploma or general equivalency diploma required - Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred - Experience working with preschool children in a child care setting and man...
