Description Job Summary: - The CDL A Operator performs equipment operation and field support duties while also operating Class A commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and crews for railroad mechanical, maintenance, and E&C operations. This position requires advanced driving skills, equipment knowledge, and a high level of safety compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Operate heavy construction and maintenance equipment on railroad projects - Drive Class A CDL vehicles including tractor-trailers and lowboys - Transport heavy equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites - Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain DOT-required logs - Secure and load equipment in compliance with DOT regulations - Assist crews with construction, maintenance, and mechanical tasks - Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues - Follow FRA, DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations - Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization - Perform other duties as assigned Work Environment: - Combination of CDL driving and active field equipment operation - Outdoor railroad environments with exposure to traffic, trains, and heavy equipment - Physically demanding...
