The Machining & Fabrication Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for leading Supply Chain Engineering activities. These activities include machining, welding, large fabrication (modules, pipe), and/or mechanical assembly manufacturability. The SME also provides input to the design process, process development, and/or improvement within the supply base. Additionally, the SME is involved in supplier issue resolution. Responsibilities: Support Product Engineering in the design phase of new products and redesign existing products to ensure product manufacturability (e.g. Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing principles) Work with Product Engineering to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated to support suppliers.
