Department: Pathology Lab: Shift/schedule: Part Time (16 hrs/wk): GENERAL SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Microbiology/Pathology/Lab Safety Manager. The Lab Tech Assistant – Pathology's primary job function is to prepare and process pathology and cytology specimens for testing. The Lab Tech Assistant – Pathology also performs light transcription duties as necessary when locum pathologists are present. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Licensure: Experience: - High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required - Basic Chemistry and Biology preferred - 2 years of Laboratory or related experience preferred - Medical Terminology preferred JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job.
