Job Title: Graduate Assistant for South Hall (Part-time) Reporting Relationship: Resident Director: Unit: IWU - Marion: Department: Director of Residence Life: Campus Location: South Hall - Marion, IN Summary of Position: The Graduate Assistantship in South Hall is a 10 month, part-time, live-in position (15hrs per week during the academic year, with a full-time training period in August) that reports directly to a full-time Resident Director. The GA partners to provide administrative leadership, community support, and engagement opportunities for students within a male residential area. This position complements a graduate student’s academic experience as an opportunity to apply theory and research practices learned in the classroom to daily student interactions that include advising, counseling, conflict mediation and to professional practices ranging from programming to assessment processes. Graduate Assistants work collaboratively as vital members of the Residence Life team, serving on departmental committees and participating in ongoing professional development.
