Description The Department of Health Humanities & Bioethics (HHBE) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (URSMD), and the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) seek to recruit an Associate Professor level faculty member/nurse leader for a new full-time, professional or academic interprofessional bioethics position. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: This joint appointment includes A) a clinical component in Nursing Practice in Strong Memorial Hospital (50%), B) a clinical ethics and scholarship component in the School of Medicine and Dentistry (50%). Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Serve as Director, Clinical Nurse Ethics o Oversee and facilitate nursing ethics activities, including needs assessments and evaluate quality and potential impact on patients, families, and nursing staff o Conduct ethics and moral distress debriefing for clinical staff o Serve as a member of the clinical ethics consultation team o Develop programs designed to ameliorate moral distress o Contribute to the ethics teaching and scholarship in SMD & potentially in SON undergrad, graduate, and professional settings in collaboration with faculty in bioethics and in...
