Job description

Summary Responsible for operating a variety of solid waste vehicles to collect and transport solid waste and recycling materials to the transfer station and/or landfill for disposal on a daily basis. Perform physically demanding duties during strenuous weather conditions. Also, responsible for the efficient operation and care of assigned equipment. Pay Range : The candidate will be selected for either a Sanitation Driver I or II position based on their experience and qualifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain the functionality, appearance and safety of the equipment and/or facilities such as Transfer Station or Recycling Center in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. Remove and transport solid waste or recyclable materials for commercial businesses to transfer stations or landfill. Maintain safe and efficient operation of solid waste collection and transport equipment and vehicles. Perform pre-trip/ post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated. Keep work location and vehicle in order. Respond to customer relations problems.
