Public Safety Officer

Job description

Overview The Public Safety Officer patrols building interiors/exteriors and parking facilities, monitors ongoing campus security issues, and responds to requests for assistance. This role also provides initial response as needed, including first aid. The Public Safety Officer directs scene activities and coordinates communication with internal and/or external agencies as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Weekly Schedule (subject to change based on need): 4 on 3 off rotating schedule to - Noon to 10pm This is a full time 1.0, on-site position with benefits. About The Department: Macalester’s Public Safety Department was established in 2019 and is currently fitted with 6 Full Time Officers and a handful of Part Time. Public Safety is committed to assisting all members of the Macalester College Community in providing for their own safety and security.
