PRN WEEKENDS: The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance of the Hospital buildings, equipment and physical plant. Department/Business Unit Function: MINIMUM EDUCATION : High School Graduate or equivalent PREFERRED EDUCATION: Trade School in mechanical, electrical or air conditioning MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 5 years in a hospital or 7 years’ similar experience in an industrial setting. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : 10 years’ hospital experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification. Training certificate in mechanical, electrical, air conditioning or equivalent experience of 10 years. - Performs preventative maintenance on many types of hospital equipment and a variety of heating and air conditioning systems - Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, switchers, plugs, receptacles, ballasts, and makes repairs on faucets, commodes, valves and door closures - Assumes responsibility for checking maintaining and making repairs on: - patient room equipment such as beds, bedside tables, lights, nurse call systems and plumbing equipment - boilers, chillers and all associated plant equipment - fan motors, pumps...
