Job description
The Service & Team The Sensory Support Service in Cornwall is a specialist, multi-disciplinary service supporting children and young people aged 0–25 with vision impairment, hearing impairment and multi-sensory impairment. The team includes Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVIs), Advisory Teachers of the Deaf (ATODs), HSALTs and specialist support staff. We work collaboratively with families, schools, early years settings, colleges and partner agencies across a wide range of mainstream and specialist settings throughout Cornwall. Children and young people are at the centre of everything we do. We support learners to access education, thrive, and achieve their potential, while empowering families and education settings to understand and meet sensory needs through inclusive, adaptive practice. The Role: The post holder will work as an Advisory Teacher of the Vision Impaired, providing a high standard of specialist teaching, assessment, monitoring and advice to children and young people aged 0–25 with vision impairment.
