Job description

Community Energy Advisors help residents, multifamily property owners, and small businesses - especially in low‑to‑moderate income and priority communities - understand and use energy‑saving and clean‑energy options across the region. This work includes helping others navigate New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) programs and opportunities. The role involves sharing practical information, answering questions, helping people apply for energy‑efficiency programs, and addressing challenges that may prevent them from improving the health, safety, and efficiency of their homes or buildings. Advisors also represent the program at community events, lead existing energy‑education workshops, and build working relationships with local energy contractors. Community Energy Advisors work as part of a flexible team and responsibilities may shift based on organizational needs and new initiatives. Energy Advisors work primarily out of an office and frequently travel throughout Capital Region to deliver programs and events.
