Legal Internship - Summer 2026

CME Group is currently looking for a Legal Department summer intern to join our Chicago office. This candidate will assist the Legal Department with day-to-day activities in support of ongoing legal matters. You will handle legal analysis and research tasks across a wide range of subject matter areas, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, and complex regulatory projects. Principal Accountabilities: Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on federal and state regulations (including CFTC and SEC compliance), case law, and industry trends to support the drafting of legal memoranda. Contract Lifecycle Support: Assist in the initial review, redlining, and organization of commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and vendor contracts. Regulatory Filings: Support the team in preparing and organizing materials for regulatory submissions and internal compliance audits. Project Management: Maintain legal databases and tracking systems for intellectual property filings, litigation hold notices, or corporate governance documents.
