Job description

JOB PURPOSE: This role leads the implementation of safety and health standards for the North America Legacy sites in alignment with Barrick’s commitment to creating a Zero Harm Workplace. The successful candidate will work with site teams and regional safety resources to ensure critical safety risks are systematically identified and controlled in accordance with internal and external requirements. The role is remote, with travel required. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide visible safety leadership and drive a strong health and safety culture - Lead the implementation of standards to address critical safety and health risks - Provide leadership, promote awareness, and be a resource in safety and health related matters for employees and contractors - Guide safety practices across multiple remote sites with limited on-site presence - Serve as a resource or facilitator for incident investigations (ICAM or 5 Whys analysis) to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions developed to prevent recurrence - Facilitate risk assessments, management of change requests, and development of standards, procedures, and legal obligation registers - Provide safety and health coaching, mentoring...
