THE OPPORTUNITY: The Genomics of Rare Disease (GRD) Registry is Australia’s first participant-led registry for individuals with rare diseases. Funded by a $1M Ramaciotti Biomedical Research Award and co-led by A/Profs Owen Siggs and Jodie Ingles, this study is recruiting participants from across the country and connecting them with cutting-edge genomic research, diagnostic opportunities, and emerging clinical trials. Since launching, the registry has recruited more than 500 participants from more than 350 families across all states and territories, and is delivering new genetic diagnoses for families who had exhausted all other clinical avenues.
