THIS IS A BID POSITION: This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the Chicago Park District and the Service Employees International Union Local 703. Pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement, the District will exhaust internal eligible applicants prior to considering external applicants. The District is assembling a list of qualified candidates for this position that will be considered should the position not be filled with internal eligible applicants. Title: Floriculturist Foreman: CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: Under supervision, has charge of a group of workers engaged in the propagation and cultivation of all types of horticultural plant material in conservatories, propagating houses, nurseries and other indoor and outdoor floral areas. Assists in laying out and assigning work pertaining to indoor and outdoor floral activities. Supervises the propagation, cultivation and care of annual and perennial floral plants and bedding stock. Performs related duties as required.
