Route Supervisor

Job description

Position Summary The Route Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily activities of drivers and helpers in order to provide safe, effective ad courteous waste collection services to customers. The incumbent will ride with a driver during his/her scheduled route to identify opportunities for enhanced operating efficiencies, accurate billing, opportunities for increases in service and potential safety hazards. #INDSJ Key Responsibilities: - Rides with assigned driver on a designated commercial and/or residential route to gather data such as travel times, disposal volumes, service and collection times, and accuracy of the route sheet in an effort to increase efficiency, reduce cost, improve revenue and reduce safety hazards. - Ensures the proper usage of the OBC and OBC back office to help achieve the divisions efficiency, safety, and customer service goals. - Provides recommendations for improvement in route scheduling, service capabilities or other changes based on findings during on-route observations. - Coordinates and provides cross training to drivers to ensure proper coverage when employees are out due to vacation or sickness. - Collaborates with customer service and sal...
