Description The Middlebury College Summer Portuguese School announces an opening for a temporary Instructor of Portuguese. The position is available during the summer 2022 session, if in person, will be located on the Bennington College campus in Vermont. Our unique 7-week program combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners, by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing and recreating with students while reading, writing and speaking exclusively in Portuguese. Program duration: June 22-August 12, 2022. Instructors are expected to arrive on June 22 for orientation and leave campus on August 13. In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided. Qualifications: We are looking for a faculty member with the following characteristics: Experience teaching Portuguese as a second language in the U.S. and experience teaching Portuguese Linguistics or Brazilian/Portuguese/African Portuguese Literature.
