Materials Planner

Job description

Position Summary: The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring timely availability of materials to support production needs. This role will balance inventory levels, supplier performance, and demand forecasts to prevent material shortages while minimizing excess inventory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, sales trends, and business inputs to support production needs and inventory optimization. Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure timely ordering of materials based on demand forecasts and inventory requirements. Partner with internal stakeholders to align purchasing with production schedules. Support daily production operations by ensuring materials availability and readiness. Release and manage production/work orders in alignment with the production schedule, and adjust as needed to respond to changing priorities or constraints. Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within Oracle, including item master data and inventory levels.
