Job description

The Nurse Practitioner examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals following established standards and practices. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Relies on education, experience, professional training and judgement to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under minimal supervision under the direction of the collaborating physician, as appropriate. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice. - TECHNICAL TASKS - Perform bedside palliative care patient/family evaluation. - Assist with diagnosis, treatment, and symptom management of acute and chronic health conditions. - Order, perform, and interpret treatments within scope of professional practice. - Consult program medical director as needed; comply with applicable laws and regulations with respect to Collaborative agreements. - Initiate reimbursement for services rendered - Assist in development of clinical practice guidelines/standards/protocols in support of quality palliative care. - Provide training and continuing education f...
