Summary The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is recruiting for a Medical Assistant I to support the clinical operation within the department at a clinical and telephone triaging capacity.This position is an outpatient position located at the McNair Campus in the Texas Medical Center with a general work schedule of Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. All members of our team should have a passion for providing exceptional patient centered care each day no matter the patient population they are working within and the ability to work within several different specialties as needed on a given day. Job Duties: - Performs medical phone triaging for patients calling for medical guidance from their health care team. - Clearly documents pertinent medical information to be communicated to or from the patient. - Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and safely preforming laboratory Point of Care Testing. - Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation and enters medical information into the EMR system (EPIC). - Properly notes the primary complaint/reason for pa...
