Job description

The MCC Clinical Registered Nurse - Associate provides direct nursing care to patients at the Mays Cancer Center. Demonstrated competence in preparing equipment and aiding physicians during treatment and examination of patients. Works under the general supervision of the department leadership. Education: Associate Degree - Required. - Provides direct nursing care to patients in a clinic setting to include: Preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plans. - Administers prescribed medications and treatments, observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions. - Develops protocols and procedure manuals. - Performs daily maintenance checks and the preparation of rooms, instruments, supplies and performs or schedules routine maintenance of equipment. - Documents patient care and treatment and assists with training of staff. - Performs all other duties as assigned. - Demonstrates the ability to function within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. - Demonstrates the ab...
