The Service & Team: This role will sit within the Council Commercial Assurance team. The Commercial team have led a successful application for Public Health Prevention Funding to deliver an improvement project to embed social value corporately and sustainably across the Council. The Role: Cornwall Council is a large unitary Council, spending £1.2bn through the external supply chain in 2024/25 across 6034 suppliers with 857 contracts in place. This fixed term role (funded for 1 year) will lead a project to improve our approach to social value and embed social value corporately. This unique and exiting position will ensure that our external spend generates meaningful social value outcomes, monitored and evidenced through procurement and contract management. The role will lead and coordinate corporate engagement, bring together learning to date, the requirements of Council services, new government guidance, and expertise in health and prevention to deliver a new corporate social value policy.
