Journeyman Mechanic - Diesel -2nd Shift

Job description

The Journeyman Mechanic has the responsibility to troubleshoot major and minor mechanical problems, as well as have the ability to repair and adjust all necessary mechanical components. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the employee is expected to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs. Reports to: Shop Manager Essential Job Duties: - Maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment - Interprets work orders and technical manuals - Keeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained - Diagnoses faults or malfunctions - Adjusts equipment and repairs or replaces defective parts, components or systems - Obey all workplace health and safety and code of conduct workplace rules - Undertake the training and assessment required under the training plan Scope of Responsibility: The Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
