Overview Gate Clerk controls access to intermodal facilities and provides clerical support by performing inspections of intermodal containers. Night Shift Schedule. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Performs inspections on all inbound and outbound intermodal units using an automated computerized gate system and/or handheld device. - Climb up and down a rolling stepladder to change paper rolls on Kiosks. - Use of a headset with a microphone to communicate with drivers. - Use Windows programs for details on transactions and corrections to transactions. - Notes the conditions of trailers, chassis or containers after inspection - Control access onto facilities. - Maintains assigned equipment & ensures work area is clean and orderly. - Performs work in accordance with established safety & quality management procedures.
