Description The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Tufts University (Medford, MA, USA; https://as.tufts.edu/physics ) invites qualified candidates to apply for a tenure-stream Faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the field of theoretical Quantum Computing/Quantum Information. The successful candidate will join the department with a target start date of September 1, 2026. We encourage candidates with demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, mentoring, and community development to apply. The Tufts Physics and Astronomy Department consists of seventeen tenured or tenure-track faculty and has strong research programs in high energy physics, condensed matter physics, cosmology, astrophysics, and physics education research. Possible subfields include analog and digital quantum simulation, quantum optimization, quantum thermodynamics, quantum sensing, the physics of quantum devices, open quantum systems, quantum error correction and quantum algorithms.
