The principal role of the Summer Temp Service Desk Assistant is to provide excellent customer service within Ehrhorn Law Library by answering basic directional, technical, and research-related questions from all library patrons. This is a professional position that demands courteous and polite interactions with the service population, and a vigilant posture while staffing the Service Desk. This position reports to the Access Services Coordinator/Supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provides excellent customer service by answering library user questions in person and on the phone, reserving study rooms for law students and faculty, and locating physical and electronic resources for checkout or in-library use. · Maintains and cares for library spaces and resources by completing hourly counts, reshelving and shifting books, checking printer supplies, reading the shelves, updating legal texts, and cleaning the library. · Performs the general duties listed above with the goal of maintaining a clean and clutter-free environment conducive to study. · Completes special projects assigned by the Access Services Coordinator/Supervisor or Associate Librarian for Public Servi...
