Job description

Operates a variety of equipment for the Municipal Services Department including high loaders, snowplows, sweepers, dump trucks, jackhammers, small hand tools, etc. This position may be for day, evening, or night shift hours. Will perform roadside maintenance, snow removal and street sweeping. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Sets grade for concrete, asphalt, or earthwork projects. May assist other crews as necessary and will train on the operation of heavy equipment. May perform emergency repairs or cleaning duties during regular work hours and performs other related duties. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two to three years of progressively responsible related experience in general labor and heavy equipment operation. Must have or be able to obtain within six months a valid state Commercial Driver’s License Class B with air brake endorsement without “K” restriction and tanker endorsement. Must have flagger certification and work zone training. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.
