Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: The AI & Security Engineer serves as a strategic technical lead within Athletics IT, responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of AI-enabled solutions. This role identifies, designs, and implements practical workflows—including copilots, custom agents, and software integrations—tailored to enhance departmental operations. By balancing workflow analysis with rigorous security protocols, the Engineer ensures the responsible adoption of AI while maintaining the department’s Risk Score and security posture. The incumbent acts as a critical bridge between departmental stakeholders and technical infrastructure teams to translate operational needs into secure, scalable, and governed AI solutions. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Investigates new and different ways to increase overall security through improvements to existing solutions or implementation of new technology or programmatic solutions. Detects internet attacks and attackers. Researches new techniques and ensures that appropriate enhancements are applied to the campus network.
