Postdoctoral Researcher in Magnetic Nanostructures for Biomedical Applications Our Magnetic & Functional Thin Films Group designs and fabricates magnetic and functional thin films with tailored properties arising from nanoscale effects. These films are used in applications ranging from magnetoelectronic devices to biomedical coatings. Your tasks: This project aims to establish magnetic disk particles (MDPs) at the physical limit of performance for magnetic hyperthermia (MHT), magnetic particle imaging (MPI), and sensing applications. The position offers a unique opportunity to bridge fundamental magnetism, advanced nanofabrication, and translational biomedical research. The successful candidate will be based at Empa and play a central role in designing and realizing optimized magnetic multilayer systems.
