Job description

Performs various routine or special chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic laboratory tests. The duties of a Medical Technologist may be specific to a particular area of the laboratory, such as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, or the blood bank. Experience - Preferred but not required Education - Bachelor's Degree Training - One year training in a NAACLS approved MT/CLS program Special Skills - Good interpersonal/human relations skills; Good oral/written communication skills; Good teamwork skills; Good critical thinking/decision making skills; Superior organizational skills Licensure - Licensed in Louisiana as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist (CLS-G) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Specialist (CLS-S) with Registry in applicable specialty for department and position. - Productivity - Performs an acceptable productivity level without a significant error rate on a variety of medical technology procedures including but not limited to performing tests on cells and microorganisms in body fluids, examining growth patterns of bacteria and fungus in patient specimens and cultures, analyzing blood and other body fluids, and performing blood compatibility testing. - Demonstr...
