Overview Inova Specialty Hospital: Critical Illness Recovery Hospital (LTACH): A joint venture partnership between Select Medical & Inova Location: Alexandria, VA: Clinical Assessment Specialist (RN or RT) A day in the life: As an integral part of our hospital business development team, the Clinical Assessment Specialist facilitates patient admissions to the rehabilitation hospital by assisting the field clinical liaisons with PAS completion and pull-through. Responsibilities: - Works within the hospital Admissions Department to assess patients for appropriateness for our specialty services and to help secure insurance authorization for referred patients. - Develops professional relationships with insurance case managers as appropriate. - Collaborates with Clinical Liaison field staff and referring hospital case managers to obtain information necessary for a thorough patient clinical assessment. - Reviews and analyzes medical records and history that are key to a determination of suitability for rehab services. - Prepares detailed preadmission assessments that meet regulatory requirements and that describe the medical necessity for our specialty hospital services. - Ensures all pol...
