Sterile Processing Technician

Job description

Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining and providing sterile instruments and supplies for surgery. Requires memorization skills and attention to detail. Must hold current sterile processing tech certification or obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Reports to: Director of Perioperative Services or RN Supervisor Hourly Rate: $20.65-30.66 (hourly rate does not include overtime or bonuses which are not guaranteed) Essential Job Functions: Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment. - Responsible for sterile processing of instruments, equipment and supplies - Collects, cleans, Inspects and reassembles instrument sets - Knowledgeable and maintains competency in the cleaning and processing of sterile equipment, supplies and instruments - Reviews operating room schedules, anticipating needs and/or conflicts with instrumentation or equipment - Prepares items for sterilization based on knowledge of sterilization methods required for specific instruments/equipment. - Properly identifies and delivers the correct items, in a timely fash...
