Physical Plant Temporary Summer Worker

Job description

Perform a variety of facilities maintenance work to include grounds and mechanical general type duties in support of physical plant summer tasks throughout college-owned facilities. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will vary depending on the trades in each department such as Grounds and Mechanical. Operations Mechanical: Ladder climbing: Stair climbing: Standing: Bending: Able to lift 50 lbs. Paint smells: Closed shoes: Working in both indoor and outdoor spaces which may include high temperature and dusty conditions. Grounds: Staff are required to wear closed-toed shoes and should dress appropriately for the weather Work can be physically demanding - Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling required Experience with or a willingness to learn equipment including hand tools, mowers, weed eaters, and loppers preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to understand and read written and verbal instructions and follow through. Ability to interact positively with a wide variety of customers.
