Job description
Minimum Requirements: - CDL Class B license, valid DOT medical card and acceptable driving record. - Mechanic certification from an accredited program. (ASE diesel mechanic or equivalent) - 4+ years experience working on heavy equipment - Light welding experience - GED and/or equivalent combination of experience - Must become a member of the ILWU local 142 - Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Duties and Responsibilities: - General overhauls of plant equipment such as loaders, crushers, mixer and quarry trucks, forklifts, graders, skid loaders, compressors; rebuilds equipment components and trouble shoots. - Diagnoses malfunctions and based on findings repairs, adjusts, and maintains equipment. - May perform the duties of other mechanics or welder. - Uses hand and power tools common to their trade such as wrenches, hammers, hoists, drills, grinders, feeler gauges, indicators, component testing equipment, etc. - Drives pick-up trucks and road tests equipment as necessary in accordance with DOT regulations.
