UNIT PROFILE: The General Internal Medicine Program is comprised of multiple highly rated Clinical Teaching Units (CTUs) focusing on acute medical care and geriatric assessment. The Program provides primary, secondary, and tertiary care to a diverse adult patient mix embracing all age categories, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and education levels. The patient population served by the General Internal Medicine interdisciplinary team includes patients with undifferentiated medical illnesses, multiple co-morbidities requiring expertise outside the scope of a single primary care physician, specialist or sub-specialist that can be acute or chronic in nature. Our skilled and dedicated interdisciplinary health professional team work collaboratively to provide high quality, safe, ethical and effective care to the patients and families we serve. POSITION SUMMARY: The GIM NRT staff are required to float between the GIM units (4MG, 5MG and 4BD). Staff will fill temporary leave of absences on one GIM unit or float between GIM units on a day-to-day basis depending on program needs.
