Buyer Department: Distribution Center Operations: Employment Type: Full Time: Location: Farmers Branch, TX: Reporting To: Scott Hancock: Description: The role of the Buyer is to price, quote, and purchase any required materials for the installation of fire protection systems that are currently not produced by the Company. The position analyzes cost, quality, and delivery to ensure competitive performance that is consistent with the organization’s policies and standards. Key Responsibilities: - Receives quote requests from Customer Service Representatives in an assigned territory for required materials - Analyzes quotes and negotiates prices and terms with suppliers to obtain competitive sources with respect to cost, quality, delivery and service - Updates weekly meetings with order and quote totals from the previous week - Follows up on orders placed with vendors - Analyzes and reviews stock orders for proper quantities prior to placement - Procures tracking on all stock orders and drop shipments placed - Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy by removing C-items and obtaining RMA’s - Maintains weekly quote logs on all inquiries and reports the breakdown - Analyzes and reviews t...
