Job description

Location: Mayo 9 - GI Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic In the GIH IBD Clinic, the RN provides both direct care to patients utilizing face to face visits and indirect, non-visit care. Patient visits may include a review of patient health issues, medication review and patient education. Non-visit care and management of patients is performed primarily over the phone or via video. In this capacity, RNs provide patient education, medication management, follow-up care, outcome management, phone triage and assessment of patient symptom-based inquiries. This role requires expert critical thinking, time management, multi-tasking, flexibility, and the ability to function autonomously in an unpredictable environment. There may be an opportunity for hybrid/remote work after successful completion of orientation and training. The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
