Job description

JOB TITLE : Radiology Technologist REQUIREMENTS: - Interviews patients for the purpose of obtaining patient history and informing patients regarding patient safety, contrast media contraindications and patient procedures. - Demonstrates compliance with state, federal and accrediting body standard in radiology. - Demonstrates proper cleaning x-ray equipment and proper handling of biohazard materials. - Assures patient and employee safety through competency in the use of all equipment and safety equipment including, but not limited to, posting of the radiation safety signs, monitoring of dosimeter badges, proper documentation of radiation exposure according to policy and procedures. - Positions patients appropriately in the scanner; provides instructions related to breathing, communication, observation and length of sequences. - Enters required patient information accurately into the computer; selects appropriate protocol and scans patients in accordance with protocol within acceptable time frames; makes adjustments as necessary. - Transports equipment and patients in a safe manner to prevent injury to self, patients or employees and prevent damage to equipment. - Produces images in...
