What Your Day Will Look Like: As a traffic engineer, you’ll plan, budget, and deliver traffic engineering projects including traffic operational analysis, traffic microsimulation models, roadway design, signal design, signing and marking, and construction traffic control plans. The traffic engineering designer reports to the project manager. What You'll Do: - Perform traffic engineering planning and design including leading project tasks. - Conduct investigations and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, roadways, intersections, signage, signals, pavement markings, and transportation corridors to determine conformance with applicable rules and standards - Design of traffic control devices including quantities, cost estimates, and specifications for transportation construction bid packages for federal, state and local agencies (intersections, interstate, roadway and rail corridors). - Ability to perform traffic design operational and safety analysis. - Write technical reports and create presentations of findings to clients and the public.
