Lumberman Job Summary: The lumberman loads and unloads building materials and other incoming materials for delivery or storage. This position is occasionally referred to as a Load Builder. Supervisory Responsibilities: - None. Primary Duties/ Responsibilities: - Move loads, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment. - Attach identifying tags to loads, stock, or other materials. - Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or operational needs. - Stack loads in locations such as material sheds, storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment. - Carry out general yard duties. - Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices. - Follows all organizational policies and procedures - Maintains a safe and clean work environment. - Reviews deliveries for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy. - Performs other related duties as assigned. - Adheres to company policies and work requirements.
