About Our Job The Auditor's Office, an independent agency of the City and County of Denver, delivers independent, transparent, and professional oversight to safeguard the public’s investments in the City and County of Denver. The Auditor has Denver City Charter authority to audit Denver’s agencies in accordance with generally accepted governmental auditing standards (GAGAS). Our audit reports are issued each month to coincide with Audit Committee meetings. We review the efficiency and effectiveness of the city’s services and programs and provide recommendations for improvement. Our office also promotes lawful employment and wage compliance while providing exceptional labor, wage, and hourly enforcement.
