Job Summary: The Assistant Professor's responsibility encompasses education, research, and/or service. Demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of his/her department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree required. Minium two years full-time teaching experience in a graduate nursing program required. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, possess a California Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate, and maintain national certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience in an accredited School of Nursing, with a focus on psychiatric nursing content. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner.
