Job description

Under the direction of the Admissions & Adoptions Supervisor, this position is responsible for activities in the Admissions, Adoptions and Lost Pet Centers regarding animal intake and adoption, including scheduling, customer service, and initial vaccinations and microchipping. This position will coordinate with foster parents for animals needing temporary placement outside of the shelter, assist in maintaining a foster database and procedures to expedite permanent placement, schedule meet-and-greets with potential adopters, and review and maintain lost and found pet reports to reunite found pets with their owners. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required with experience in animal welfare and shelter operations preferred. Must be skilled in animal handling and have general knowledge of a variety of animal species and their health, care, and behavior. The qualified candidate will be proficient in oral and written communication, computer usage and the use of basic computer programs, with a strong customer service background.
