Summary The section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and procedure scheduler to schedule Gastroentrology general GI outpatient procedures. The position requires patient education and navigation through the patient's journey, including preparing patients for the procedure the procedure and scheduling the procedure with BCM & BSLMC EMR. The candidate will work closely with physicians and procedure schedule. The candidate will work Monday - Friday, 8hrs daily. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated and passionate about providing excellent customer service to out patients. Job Duties: - Schedules GI procedures in BCM and BSLMC EPIC, assuring that every referred patient will have a procedure date scheduled. - Contacts patients for instruction before the procedures and notify patient of date/time/arrival time. - Requests additional information from referring physicians. - Verifies insurance for new and established patients. - Works closely with general GI care coordination team to fill endoscopy block. - Works on order work queue to select orders and schedule patients. - Works closely with MD for any patient special instructions, including...
