Position Function: Network Architect is a position under administrative supervision of the Manager of Network Services in Information Technology Infrastructure. Specific activities include installation, maintenance, management, and support of data network electronics and software in an enterprise 40-Gigabit/100-Gigabit Ethernet network. Management and coordination of large-scale networking projects in an enterprise environment. Salary Grade : 17: Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Configure, deploy, and monitor MSU Campus Network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers. 2. Evaluate, test, and recommend new network hardware and software. 3. Manage and coordinate large-scale projects. 4. Provide technical support and guidance to the other divisions within Information Technology Services and to the MSU community at large. 5.
